Aims of NSS

  • To evoke patriotism and the spirit of community service among the youth.
  • To create Literacy Awareness among the rural women.
  • To reiterate the importance of social work in the minds of young people.
  • Creating an eco-friendly atmosphere.

Red Ribbon Club (RRC)

Soka Ikeda College for women in its milestone of development has added a new feather to its cap by inaugurating the Red Ribbon Club in the college to combat the social evil – HIV/AIDS.

Under the able guidance of the college Principal and the RRC program officer, 100 students were enrolled as the volunteers of Red Ribbon Club.

Youth Red Cross

YRC organizes relief and assistance without discrimination to the victims of armed conflicts, endeavors to mitigate and alleviate the human sufferings, whenever and wherever the naturals / manmade disasters cripple the society, and works to ensure respect and dignity for human beings.

Under the able guidance of the college Principal and the YRC program officer, 100 students were enrolled as the volunteers of Youth Red Cross.

LAUGHTER YOGA – 24.08.2018

A Laughter Yoga was organized on 24th July 2018 for NSS, YRC and RRC students by Mr.S.Sampath (Siripaanandha), member of SriRamaKrishna Saradha Ashram

HIV AWARENESS PROGRAM – 21.08.2018

A Laughter Yoga was organized on 24th July 2018 for NSS, YRC and RRC students by Mr.S.Sampath (Siripaanandha), member of SriRamaKrishna Saradha AshramThe HIV awareness program was conducted by RRC coordinators as a part of part V activity program on 21th August, 2018.The chief guest Mrs. Kousalya Periyasamy, the founder of Positive Women Network (PWN), delivered a special lecture on HIV.

ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAM – 31.08.2018

Road Safety Awareness program was held on 31st August 2018 in Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women. The Chief Guest Mr. Durai, Regional Transport Officer, Ambattur in his speech provoked the undeniable truth that "each one’s safety is in their own hands" as well on the importance of a how precious each one's life is.

Anti Ragging awareness programme was conducted by Anti Ragging Cell as a part of Part V activity programme on 11.09.18 at Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women. The objective of the programme is to bring awareness among students and staff about Anti Ragging Law

INAUGURATION OF NSS, RRC & YRC – 20.09.2018

The Part V activities NSS, RRC & YRC were Inaugurated on 20th September 2018. The Chief Guest, Dr.J. Sulaiman, NSS Programme Officer and YRC Chennai District Organizer, The New College, Chennai, addressed the gathering by focusing on the importance of NSS, RRC and YRC and also the significant objectives of it.
